Hans Van de Looy

Hans Van de Looy is probably best known as ethical hacker. Mid 2017 he sold his shares in Madison Gurkha, the company he started in 2000. This company delivered high quality penetration testing services and security consultancy to the top 1000 organisations (enterprises, (research) institutions and government) in The Netherlands, where the organisation was regarded one of the top 3 penetration test specialists. In the past Hans has delivered various presentations and workshops at (international (hacker)) conferences, like: SANE, HOPE, Black Hat and HAL, and he is still passionate to share information and knowledge in presentations and workshops at company meetings, universities and other educational institutions. Over 42+ years of experience in the ICT security field working for major Dutch and international companies and organisations. Currently mostly working on ISO/IEC 27001, BIO 2.0 or NIS-2 projects. Both as an implementer or as an internal auditor. He is also involved in the development of MIAUW (Methodology for Information Security Research with Audit Waarde). Besides work, Hans is the chairman of the NLUUG Program Committee, a member of the DIVD.fund Advisory Board, and chairman of the DIVD Ethical Committee. His hobbies include, but are not limited to reading, (listening to) music, hacking, lockpicking, maintaining his own FreeBSD collocated server, and he recently started to learn Danish. Always looking for new exciting projects in both The Netherlands and abroad.
