Mischa van Geelen has been a volunteer and researcher at DIVD since December 2022 and serves as CISO as of December 1, 2025. In his professional work, he has contributed to several notable investigations, including the incidents at the municipality of Hof van Twente, ROC Mondriaan and the municipality of Lochem, as well as the security assessment of the Dutch CoronaMelder app. His background in security testing, digital forensics and incident response enables him to rapidly understand complex technical environments and translate them into clear, actionable security insights. Mischa is known for his analytical approach, structured way of working and ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders. As CISO, he plays a central role in defining security strategy, coordinating incident response processes and strengthening the organization’s overall security posture.
